Local business group making funds available

Braintree Business Development Center, a member of the JumpStart Entrepreneurial Network, is launching a fund to provide small capital for small businesses.

The launch of Appleseed Microfinance is set for 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19 at Ed Pickens' Café on Main in Mansfield.

Through Appleseed Microfinance, funds of $1,000 to $35,000 will be made available to eligible high potential Northeast Ohio businesses with 50 employees or fewer. The money can be used for equipment, inventory, business-debt restructuring, working capital and short-term projects.

The Appleseed Microfinance launch event will include a brief presentation of the fund's parameters, followed by a question-and-answer session regarding the fund's admissibility requirements and application process.

The launch is free and open to the public. Space is limited.

Those interested should register online at www.jumpstartinc.org.
