“Alternative Growing Systems - Latest Research & Technology”

Presented by Rebecca Singer, Vice President of CIFT, Center for Innovative Food Technology

What traditionally requires eight acres can now be produced in just one acre. Vertical growing and high tunnels are just two of the alternative growing systems that are increasing yield and expanding the growing season. Please join us on September 24th as Rebecca Singer explores these and other innovative growing systems. The Center for Innovative Food Technology is a developer and provider of technical innovations and solutions to enhance the economic performance of the food processing, agribusiness, and agricultural sectors of the economy.

Rebecca Singer, vice president and director of Agricultural Programs at CIFT, identifies advanced agricultural practices and implements projects to enhance emerging agricultural and agribusiness sectors. She also manages projects relating to small business development, valueadded agriculture, and alternative energy. Prior to joining
CIFT in 2001, she worked with the Ohio Department of Agriculture as the OHIO PROUD coordinator. She is a graduate of Ohio LEAD, traveled to Israel in 2006 at the invitation of the Negev Foundation, and was a recipient of the 2007 Young Professional Achievement Award given by OSU's College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences
