Mansfield native is new VentureOhio director

COLUMBUS – Falon Donohue, a 2001 Crestview High School graduate, has been named executive director of VentureOhio.In this role, Donohue will be responsible for advancing VentureOhio’s mission of assuring abundant capital for all stages of entrepreneurial companies, strengthening resources in Ohio for building high-growth businesses and increasing awareness of Ohio’s entrepreneurial successes.John McIlwraith, chairman of VentureOhio, said, “We are thrilled to have Falon join VentureOhio as our full-time executive director. She has been an active and energetic member of Columbus’ start-up community for several years, including leading the highly successful Start-up Storytellers event.“Falon’s entrepreneurial energy and passion will now be focused on advancing the mission of VentureOhio throughout the state and beyond.”Donohue has served as an adviser, mentor and leader in the start-up community with more than seven years of business development and relationship management experience.Prior to taking on roles in business, Donohue served nine years in the Ohio Air National Guard, ultimately reaching the rank of staff sergeant.“Ohio’s venture capital community is one of the leading drivers of Ohio’s economy, providing capital and business-building support to high potential start-up and early-stage companies,” Donohue said. “By working together, we will build a stronger, more sustainable start-up ecosystem that can provide the financial and other resources necessary to support Ohio’s business-builders and job-creators.”VentureOhio is the unified source for the capital resources and other organizations that finance or support high growth companies based in Ohio and that seek to make Ohio a preferred location for high potential entrepreneurial activity.
