BioOhio is a membership organization that builds and accelerates bioscience industry, research, and education in Ohio. With over 400 members, BioOhio is the lead organization for the bioscience community and the Ohio affiliate for global bioscience associations AdvaMed, BIO, MDMA and PhRMA.
The Ohio Third Frontier program is creating jobs and transforming the state's economy by accelerating the growth of high-tech, startup and early-stage companies. The statewide network of resources provides access to business assistance, capital and talent to help turn great ideas into thriving companies and well-paying jobs.
The Ohio Minority Business Assistance Centers provide technical assistance, professional consulting, access to capital and assistance obtaining contract opportunities to emerging businesses in order to cultivate their growth and sustainability. Professional MBAC staff work with owners of existing businesses, start-ups, certified Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs), certified Encouraging Diversity Growth and Equity (EDGE) and socially and economically disadvantaged businesses. MBEs are defined as businesses that are at least 51 percent or more owned and controlled by one of the following groups: African American, Hispanic, Native American or Asian American. EDGE certified businesses are defined as enterprises that are owned by economically and socially disadvantaged entrepreneurs.
For more than a century, the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce has supported economic development throughout the Mansfield, OH and Richland County area and offered valuable benefits to its membership.The Chamber is a member-based organization, and area businesses and organizations are invited to learn about joining our efforts.
First Call 211 is a free, confidential community service. Our mission is to provide useful information to the public and to connect members of our community with services that meet their needs. Assistance can range from simple issues, to much more complex issues, and our up-to-date database allows us to search through local services and match those in need to the proper agencies for help.
JumpStart was formed to bring the concept of “venture development” to Northeast Ohio—a unique mix of capital investment and intensive technical assistance for entrepreneurs. For more than a decade, we have expanded our work to assist existing small business owners, as well as regional leaders in a 21 county area of Northeast Ohio that includes Richland, Ashland, Crawford, and Wayne Counties.
Established in 1998, Downtown Mansfield, Inc. (DMI) is a nonprofit membership based organization whose mission is to stimulate economic development, improve the appearance and create a positive image of the downtown as a desirable place to work, live, visit, shop and invest. In order to accomplish these goals we have implemented the National Main Street Model for commercial district revitalization.
The Stark Entrepreneurship Alliance is a one-stop shop for early-stage and start-up companies in Stark County, Ohio. The alliance provides assistance in all aspects of creating and growing a business including business consulting, recruiting management, financing, real estate, product innovation, mentoring and coaching, legal and accounting, and more. Both Braintree and JumpStart are SEA members.

Unlike typical office spaces, those looking for coworking space are attracted by the opportunity to work alongside others with similar interests. In the case of SEA’s space, those who are entrepreneurs or those interested in becoming entrepreneurs share similar interests and experiences.
